Westchester Luminaria lit the streets of the Westchester neighborhood on the night of Dec. 16. The judges note the enthusiastic participation of the residents that resulted in nearly every street lined with the beautiful glow of candles that says as much about community spirit as it does about holiday atmosphere.
M.A.K. Residents celebrate the hundredth anniversary of their historic neighborhood with an abundance of twinkling holiday lights and decorations at many homes throughout the neighborhood. Themes run the gamut from exhuberant to traditional, but all work harmoniously to create a festive atmosphere rich in community spirit.
W. Hill Street A perennial Decorate Decatur favorite, this street stands out every year with its large number of extravagantly decorated homes featuring lights of all kinds, seasonal figures and inflatables.

Wordsmiths • 141 E. Trinity Pl. Golden gifts in the windows, gift wrapped boxes flanking the entrance, an abundance of twinkling bright lights and a fiberoptic Christmas tree visible from the street welcome Decatur’s book lovers with the holiday spirit.
Chick fil-A • 105 E. Trinity Pl. Before you run in for a chicken sandwich, pause for a moment to check out the festive holiday paintings covering the windows all around the building.
Oakhurst Business District • Oakview Road at East Lake Drive Decorated shops and restaurants, with the community Christmas tree as a focal point, give the neighborhood a cheery holiday atmosphere as shoppers hurry by and friends meet at their favorite spots.
