After School Program Overview                                                          Grades K-8

"I feel like my children are cared for, enriched and stimulated on a daily basis. All while having fun and playing with their friends. There is the right amount of structure and choices for them … we could not be happier with our experience thus far! Thank you!"
~Animal Crackers Parent

Fitness, fun, enrichment, technology, food projects, friends, social emotional learning and much more are all offered to K-8th grade children in the city's nine after school programs.  Animal Crackers (K-3rd), Whiz Kids (4th-5th), and Project REAL (6th-8th) are offered in collaboration with City Schools of Decatur.

Animal Crackers offers age-appropriate, enriching programming to kindergarten through 3rd grade students in six locations. Whiz Kids at the 4th/5th Academy and Ebster Recreation Center includes lots of child-driven activities. Our 4th and 5th graders are involved in guiding and planning various elements of the program  themselves. Project REAL at Renfroe Middle School gives participating youth a voice in planning enrichment activities, field trips and community service projects.

After school fees are due the 15th of each month prior to the beginning of each session. Session 1 fees are due July 15 and continue each month through April 15. No fees are due in December.
